AED and Oxygen Unit Subsidy Program

AED and Oxygen Unit Subsidy Program

The Action

AED and oxygen unit subsidy programs to encourage dive clubs and operators to purchase appropriate safety equipment.

In response to an ageing diving population and the associated increased prevalence of cardiac-related diving and snorkelling deaths, the ADSF has been offering an AED Subsidy as a Diving Safety Promotion to encourage dive clubs and dive operators to purchase an AED and have it available when their members or customers are diving. The subsidy offered is $1,250 to clubs and $1,000 to commercial dive operators.

Good first aid oxygen administration is a very important step in the management of a diving accident, especially if involving decompression illness. To increase the availability of suitable oxygen first aid equipment at dive sites, the ADSF is offering a Diver Oxygen Unit Subsidy as a Safety Promotion to encourage dive clubs and dive operators to purchase an appropriate Oxygen Unit and have it available when their members or customers are diving. The subsidy offered is generally around two-thirds of the purchase price of an agreed unit.
